Since leaving school at the end of 1959, have trained as a nurse, worked as a ward manager, worked in journalism at a NSW country newspaper, studied externally to gain BA, MLitt, DipEd, taught at TAFE, spent two years as a Lecturer in a Nursing faculty, joined the teaching profession and had a successful classroom career, teaching mainly in a selective high school. I now serve as a Shire Councillor and combine this with part-time English tutoring and freelance writing. I might be 69, but I am definitely employable!!!!!!! I am passionate about many things, especially teaching, and am becoming acutely aware of the fact that prospective employers can't see past the chronological age. I am a dynamic person and look and sound at least 15 years younger.
My skills are respected and I have just acted as co-judge of the Future Film contest associated with the Sydney Film Festival.
