The ethics of the business might rule my points out here which I will try to critically analyze through my thoughts, but still no hard feelings, obviously it&amp;#8217;s the bread &amp;amp; butter of many of us in the industry yet though I think somebody needs to prepare an interesting curry for food for our thoughts glooming us if not for the next few forthcoming drunken weekends before the new year&amp;#8217;s eve but at least for the next few days might be.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

What it takes to become a Right Media Package, an overall master Media Expert except to the obvious toil put in by us day in and day out. Yes obviously a client would want to see a dynamic personality. &amp;#8220;Out of the Box&amp;#8221; thinking approach is &amp;#8220;IN&amp;#8221; fashion guys. Gone are the days when it used to restrict its application only to all the respected creative&amp;#8217;s sitting in our offices but believe me now it holds true, crucial and important for each one of us. &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt; LINE-HEIGHT: 12.75pt; TEXT-ALIGN: justify"&gt;&lt;span style="FONT-SIZE: 11.5pt; COLOR: black; FONT-FAMILY: 'Arial','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'"&gt;The FAQ&amp;#8217;s bombarded generally consists of such questions, does an organization need only valuable advertising to push their product or do they need impressive pr stunts to make their CEO&amp;#8217;s presence felt or the simplest could be becoming a sponsor of all the major events, yes you are thinking right it could be an advice to do things different and wooing on a flashy crowd at a Shakira Concert Night too to the extent that this advice might reach an eligible financial leader of the industry too, (Questions with exclamation marks like how come, why, are yet not listed in our dictionaries though). If nothing works then let me suggest my client to chunk a good money to buy SRK&amp;#8217;s and Abby Babies of the world to talk about my product. My question here is, Are we clear about the question that are we all trying to find an answer for &amp;#8221; ?&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

Any media mind share that goes into understanding and reinventing a media strategy for ones client, needs one simple approach. I have to offer a strategy that can pamper the personal think tank of all those from young budding brand managers to the whities of the industry sitting across the table when I go to meet them to present an Effective Communication Strategy for their brand. This is precisely the first step and the most crucial where we all have fumbled many times. The resultant some great ideas could not take the shape they always deserved. &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

But the underneath fact remains the same whether what all that my thinking horses must be thinking of, the end result lies in the fact that we all face and that is the final ratio of implementation of those thoughts and ideas. &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

Brand Building first starts from your first customer your own clients and from there it goes to your second customers your client&amp;#8217;s clients, let me make myself little easy here, I&amp;#8217;m talking about the buyers of your product &amp;amp; brand precisely.&lt;span style="mso-spacerun: yes"&gt;&amp;nbsp; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

But to conclude, keeping in mind the increasing demand and competition in the market the time has come to evolve ourselves and if not become, let&amp;#8217;s try to behave like a &amp;#8220;Jack of All&amp;#8221;, a comprehensive consolidate package of being a Media Expert. The thumb Rule could be an Umbrella Approach towards your brand the same umbrella which will help YOU during any rains coming your way. &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

For anyone applying for jobs at a team leader level or higher, invariably one of the core competencies desired relates to people management.&lt;/div&gt;

&lt;div&gt;As either a leader, or as a worker who has been exposed to leaders, which approaches, methods or culture would you regard as demonstrating effective 'people skills' or alternatively which experiences definitely DO NOT demonstrate 'people skills'. &lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div&gt;For some cheap examples, perhaps a leader willing to learn your task and chip in when work is busy. You may regard that as an effective 'people skill', something which garners your respect. Conversely, a manager who continually yells at and belittles staff members, particularly in front of others could be the opposite.&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div&gt;As it is perceived to be such an important skill and interviewers seem to have a range of ideas as to how to approach the topic of 'people management', let's open it up and see if we can create an idea of what constitutes effective 'people management'. &lt;/div&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Attending a number of interviews has provided an eye opening perspective on management within Australian institutions.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;For me, Lean and Six Sigma (particularly Lean) is a passion, something I have invested my energy in from a private perspective. No company has sponsored my Lean/Six Sigma education since leaving Westpac, though I pursue it relentlessly regardless.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Perhaps it's yet another demonstration of why Toyota dominates its industry, however the true philosophy and principles of Lean seem lost on the levels of management I encounter in interviews. I have found it beneficial to remove Lean and Six Sigma references from my resume. The topic seems to provide a barrier rather than a competitive edge, which is admittedly an unwelcome surprise.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Line level managers seem to be obsessed with people and what they perceive to be 'people oriented' skills and management. I firmly subscribe to the belief that management is a blend of people and processes. The greatest levels of performance are reliant on a blend of the two. Great people are held back by inefficient processes and great processes are useless without the right people.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Management is about creating the right culture, more than monthly reviews, assessments against questionable performance measures and superficial contributions to morale. Managers seem to recruit versions of themselves with a relentless focus on 'people skills', assumedly due to the prevelance of these skills and the rarity of training in process improvement methodologies. To create greater confusion, the definition of 'people skills' seems to differ from one manager to the next. Even where lip service is given to a search for a 'fresh perspective', invariably the criteria strictly demand levels of experience within the role; which would suggest that the 'fresh perspective' will not be gained at all. "Do what you have always done and you will get what you have always got." A famous quote and apt for almost every interview I have been to, however standing still is going backwards in a competitive world. Standing still makes no sense when your competitors are moving forward. Put $100 under your bed and see what it buys you in 50 years. Status quo is actually moving in reverse.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Strategic vision and a determination to provide staff with superior processes, a predictable work environment with a levelled schedule and standardisation of work; along with team based problem solving skills and a culture of continuous improvement. To me this can do more for staff morale and trust than any of the 'people skills' defined to me by managers. An open environment where problems are surfaced and dealt with in order of importance, not by a mysterious business improvement team, but by the workers themselves.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;This is where constructive empowerment begins and a sense of worth and confidence infuses the team. No one understands the coal face like the miner swinging the pick, though too often people detached from the process are left to dream up grandiose and often impractical solutions to issues; which are often laden with difficulties that are all too obvious to the people doing the work.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Support the value added workers. Leadership is a support role. The rubber hits the road from the team doing the actual work. Too often leaders are positioned as being the main contributors to a given work process. Great leadership provides tremendous leverage, however on a daily basis, remove the leader and the work should get done. Remove a worker and you're likely to miss targets and upset customers.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;My ideas and combination people/process perspective has cost me a number of potential roles, however I'm not concerned or ashamed of that. Rather I continue my search for a company and manager with the right ideas and culture, or intention to create the right culture. An environment where I can contribute to learning and continue my own education. A learning organisation is the ultimate vision for Toyota and is the clearest advantage of man over machine. People are a wasted resource. My perspective of true people skills are to tap into that resource and have an organisation of thinking workers, not robots made of flesh.&lt;/p&gt;

Shouldnt I be happy Ive found a job that Ive stayed at for over 1 year?? Well no.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Im a hard worker and have a keen Eye for doing things right&amp;nbsp; Hense why&amp;nbsp; I never got my parents to help me get a job or asked others to give me the leg up infront of people just because there my friends. No I rather earn my Way to the Top..&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;thats why I chose Bunnings its promised Career advancements and equality amoung "team members".. but what a foopa that turned out to be....&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;All was good for the first couple of months&amp;nbsp; I had a good but stern manager (perfect) to push me in the right direction&amp;nbsp; but after he moved on the place went down light a Paris Hilton Home Video....we got a 2 new Managers&amp;nbsp; that are complete deuche bags I mean the only reason they got the job was because there friendship with the Area Manager ( I dont see any other way they could of gotten in as the only place we all (not only I) thought the only place these these people could manager was a "light switch" &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;after 8 months we have lost alot of our experience workers&amp;nbsp; because of there stupidity and lack of understanding. They are a free service for employers contracted out by Centrelink to &lt;u&gt;allegedly&lt;/u&gt; help the unemployed find work. Most of them are formed by religious group&amp;#8217;s &lt;strong style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal"&gt;&lt;em style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal"&gt;&lt;span style="COLOR: #002060"&gt;(that should give you a clue right there)&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/strong&gt; branching out to increase their profits. Now, part of the cost of running the show is funded by Centrelink provided they meet there target&amp;#8217;s, they have to get a certain number of people job&amp;#8217;s within a specified time frame. Then each time they get someone a job there rewarded with a financial bonus, then, if that person stays in the job for 3 months, there&amp;#8217;s another financial and bigger bonus. So these groups don&amp;#8217;t really care about the individual, it&amp;#8217;s not profitable, they just think in numbers. Because don&amp;#8217;t forget their bottom line is of course like many other things these days, money.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

In my time they have tried to take away my benefits on two occasions, but with a quick appeal and making a lot of noise both times they failed. I&amp;#8217;m 50 years old now and just the other day they gave me a 28 page document detailing how to conduct myself at a job interview, i&amp;#8217;m sure i don&amp;#8217;t have to explain the irony in that. After all, my working life has only spanned about 35 years; i guess i must be just starting out. And if someone gets the job because there more experienced, or 20 years younger than i, apparently that&amp;#8217;s my fault as well, they are so patronising as well. And if they have a job interview for you, they expect you to come into the office to get the details instead of giving it to you over the phone when they call you up to tell you about it in the first place. As many of you would agree i&amp;#8217;m sure, looking for a job is a full time job in itself; so you can&amp;#8217;t afford to be given the run around. And for almost every appointment they can&amp;#8217;t resist threatening to report you to Centrelink even if you haven&amp;#8217;t protested about anything.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0mm 0mm 0pt"&gt;&lt;span style="FONT-SIZE: 14pt; FONT-FAMILY: 'Cambria','serif'; mso-ascii-theme-font: major-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font: major-latin"&gt;&lt;o:p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

One of the conditions of receiving unemployment is that you can&amp;#8217;t knock back any job you are offered that you&amp;#8217;re capable of doing without losing your unemployment benefits. This is common knowledge among unscrupulous employers, so as a result, you get all the **** at the bottom of the employer barrel, bosses that you wouldn&amp;#8217;t run across the road to spit on. And the Job Network Centre&amp;#8217;s can see them coming a mile away, but of course they just look the other way. To them it doesn&amp;#8217;t matter where or with whom they get someone a job with, because if that poor unfortunate gets the job, there&amp;#8217;s another financial bonus as well as looking good to Centrelink. During my time associated with Job Network Centres, i&amp;#8217;ve been cheated, bashed, underpaid and not being paid at all. And that&amp;#8217;s all from jobs that i got through Job Network Centres. I&amp;#8217;ve been registered with a few of them, and i can tell you they are all the same, it doesn&amp;#8217;t matter who they are. So &lt;strong style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal"&gt;&lt;span style="COLOR: #002060"&gt;heed&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt; my &lt;strong style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal"&gt;&lt;span style="COLOR: red"&gt;warning&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt; and here is some good advice to &lt;strong style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal"&gt;arm&lt;/strong&gt; yourself if you&amp;#8217;re unfortunate enough to get tangled up with them.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

Sure give them your usual details like name, address and home phone number. It&amp;#8217;s handy if you have an answering machine, so you can screen your calls, because very often there highly disorganised. But you don&amp;#8217;t have to give them your mobile number or email address, or they&amp;#8217;ll hound you like a dog. Because when they get in contact with you they expect you to drop whatever your doing and go running into their office immediately, and they always call at the most inconvenient time. Even outside office hours you&amp;#8217;re still not safe, they&amp;#8217;ve even called me up on a Sunday once. If you&amp;#8217;re lucky enough to score a job interview that you got yourself, tell your Job Network Centre nothing. They will want to know all the detail&amp;#8217;s, like who was it with, what the job was etc. Quite frankly if you didn&amp;#8217;t get the job interview through them it&amp;#8217;s just none of their business. Even if you do get a job, i highly advise you to withhold that information for as long as you can, just in case that job doesn&amp;#8217;t work out for you.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

All of which will result in your benefit been suspended for a certain number of weeks. But still there are a number of things you can do, the most important is first impression, give a bad one. It doesn&amp;#8217;t matter if you a rocket scientist, that first impression will greatly influence the rest of the interview. Buy yourself a pack of gum. Use body language, for instance; cross your arms and legs, slouch in your chair a little. By the way, don&amp;#8217;t wait to be offered a seat before you sit down. Wear ill fittings clothes, a jacket with the sleeves too short, a loud brightly coloured tie, pants that are clean but not ironed. Walk in looking flustered, disorganised, clumsy and inept.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

Currently, all are running wirelessly, however they are not as fast or as secure as I wish they were.&lt;br&gt;Now onto finally getting my network gear in, lets see what I have ordered.&lt;br&gt;1 Dell Poweredge R805 2U server, Dell PowerEdge 2410 24U Rack enclosure, 1 Cisco 2106 Wireless LAN Controller, 5 Cisco Aironet 1130 Wireless Access Points, Cisco 1841 broadband router, and approximately 300 meters of cat6 cabling.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;So far I have removed all these products out of the boxes, and wow, what a lot of&amp;nbsp; protection in there. Ok, here I go, just putting together the 2410 rack enclosure... now I need to get out my PowerEdge R805 and place it into the rack, next before I plug it in completely, I have a rule, put everything else in first. Now I need to get 4 of the aironet 1130 access points, I will be placing these 4 around the house, the majority of these will be under the house, to prevent the sight of them indoors. however i will be placing one in above the media server in the lounge room. Now on to the fun stuff, I need to cut and crimp the CAT6 cabling, and run them from my room, all the way up to the house, Ok, now the cables have all been crimped, I can move on to plug one end into the 2106, and run them up to the house. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Ok, cables are in and attached to the AP's, now is where it becomes interesting, configure the broadband router and connect it to the wifi controller,&amp;nbsp; ok now the broadband is configured and connected. Now its time to turn it all on!! &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Nice, listen to that purr :) now lets see what is loaded on this dell server, ok, its running Server 2003, my first task will be to promote it as a DC, and configure AD accounts for my family. I have never felt more like a loser. Yes, I know the job market is tightening up etc etc. In a million years I couldn't have guessed that I would end up this way at this age. &lt;br&gt;Searching for a job presents many challenges and most of the time I keenly accept. However I am ill equipped for today's job market and there is no easy fix. Seems the skills I have accumulated to date are either not communicable, no provable or simply not in demand. I worked for a Toyota dealership, delivering spare part's to local businesses and mine sites. I enjoyed my job very much, having the freedom to do what i love to do, and that is to drive. I don't need to work. I have a house, furniture, money and enough "stuff" for several life times. I don't need to worry about the economy collapsing or whether someone has a large or small carbon footprint ... what ever the hell that means.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Because I like writing I run a blog. I sell a few of my ebooks and some other people's ebooks. Occasionally, I do some consulting, but it's all intended just to keep me going so I don't die from boredom.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;You see, it's very hot most of the year where I live. I can't garden all day or do outside work, so I spend the hot part of the day inside. Yes, I do housework, but it also gives me time to write; my one true love. I also read, and occasionally dream about beautiful Asian ladies ... but I'm getting sidetracked.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Lately I have had two offers of a HR Director position in Dubai. Both for the same job. My contact asked, "Would you take this job just for 12 months and help us out?" Then later, "How about just six months?"&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;I can't believe they are having trouble finding someone to head up a HR Department. Now I'm faced with the dilemma of loving waking up each morning and being free to do what I like with heading off to the the UAE again and being in the harness (so to speak).&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Life seems to be like that: Feast or Famine. On occasions I recall applying for jobs and getting nothing but knock-backs for 12 months. Then, all of a sudden I'd get three offers from jobs that were all that I wanted; feast or famine.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Has that been your experience too? When you REALLY want something, like a job, it seems elusive; when you really DON'T want a job, the offers roll in.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Maybe if you want a job, it's best to just cruise along and not to be over-concerned. It's then that the offers will come in.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;The Buddha referred to this when discussing enlightenment. He said that when you really try, it doesn't happen; when you relax and go with the flow, it happens in a flash.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;It's taken me almost a lifetime to realise what The Buddha knew several thousand years ago.
