A Challenge
Guiding the Environmental Management and Community Consultative Program for one of NSW's largest and most complex producing coal sites currently undergoing a significant OC pit expansion.
Ensure smooth coordination of two Environmental Advisors through sampling, monitoring and compliance activities and gaining access to various & sometimes dangerous onsite locations;
Acting Environmental Superintendent as required involved in Annual Business Planning and Budgeting;
Active Regulatory negotiation & stakeholder liaison;
Groundwater, surface water, potable water, dust, noise, air, vibration, blast & waste monitoring;
Long & Short-term Planning for environmental projects (emphasis on Rehabilitation concept to implementation & review);
AEMRs, Annual Environmental Return, NPI, NGERs Reporting;
Cross-over with the Environmental Planning and Approvals team;
Training, coordination + maintenance of the Environmental Obligations Register;
Ensuring all site personnel (1000 full time + 800 contractors) adhere to relevant environmental safeguards and regulations;
Responsibilities may seem straight-forward; but size and scale of this site means that this is by no means an easy role;
