To cover internal movement a 6 month contract (with potential extension) is available for a qualified Building Certifier to investigate and report on compliance with reported breaches of building development works, on a part time basis of two and a half days a week.
This role will see you conduct inspections on predominantly residential dwellings and some commercial and industrial developments to ensure compliance with building approval standards. You'll be the first point of contact to provide information to resolve issues relevant to development and building breaches with the main focus being on education and resolution. You'll also have to follow through any enforcement or action required for any non-compliance.
You'll also have local government experience and have a thorough understanding of the Building Act and the Sustainable Planning Act to perform your role in a regulatory function. Strong communication skills are imperative for success in this role.
