You will enjoy a reasonable roster and will be located near the site in NT or FIFO from Queensland. The Role As the Safety Superintendent, you will be responsible for the overriding safety strategy for the business as well as operational elements and managing a team. Your key duties will include: Development and implementation of a robust Safety Management System, including maintaining and monitoring as the business grows in size. Incident investigation, tap root investigations, injury management, and root cause analysis when required. Implementing a Safety Mapping System. Conducting site safety assessments and risk assessments, including in depth auditing and gap analysis on current state of play, implementing and actioning corrective actions to take place. Implementing a behavioural based safety system and tailoring it to the site and employees. Regular safety reporting, measuring statistics and providing in depth analysis for the leadership team. Developing regular safety training for compliance, as well as tool box talks and pre starts. Implementing relative legislative components into process to ensure compliance. About You You will have a Degree or Diploma in OH&S - this is a non-negotiable. You will have had prior experience in running safety for an open pit mine or underground mine. Prior experience in managing and mentoring a small team, working at a Superintendent or Lead level. Experience in working operationally prior to moving into Safety would be advantageous. Exceptional communication skills, demonstrated ability to influence and negotiate key decision, and a professional and unflappable style.
