Applicants should be degree qualified with a minimum of 12-15 years experience in a senior civil estimating role or managing a civil estimating team. The main focus is on road/highway and bridge construction - this company has been engaged to prepare costings for state road authorities and alliance projects and negotiate prices and variations so exposure to RTA/RMS projects is essential although a background working for one of the other state road authorities would be acceptable. The team is responsible for preparing estimates at all stages including concept, detailed and strategic estimates. A background working on projects in the rail or mining sector in addition to extensive highways experience would be desirable but not essential. Exposure to Benchmark estimating software or similar is required. We are seeking highly motivated people with strong interpersonal skills as this is a client-facing position where you will be required to liaise with people at a senior level. Previous experience managing a small team and mentoring junior staff would be preferred as you will be overseeing 10 estimators initially, increasing to a team of 13-15 by the end of 2013. We are looking for people who are adaptable and able to work in an open and cooperative team environment. Existing client contacts within the state road and transport authorities would be ideal. Long term requirement for an experienced Sub Foreperson Immediate start based in the South/West Suburbs Very reputable Tier Two Builder Our client is currently seeking an experienced Sub Foreperson who has come from a trade background to join them on a long term contract basis.
This company are a reputable Tier Two Builder with a healthy pipeline of work to see them through 2013 and into 2014. They have been established in Sydney for over 28 years now and have offices up and down the Eastern seaboard. They are renowned through NSW as being an employer of choice that offers first class training and progression opportunities for their employees.
They are predominately a commercial and industrial builder but have been known to undertake a few high end residential projects. The typical project value would be between $8million - $79million.
Due to several new project wins there is currently an immediate requirement for sub foreperson to join the site team at the finishes stages of this $15 Million commercial project.
As the ideal candidate for this role, you will be from a trade background and you would have completed your apprenticeship working for a known Tier one or Tier two builders. You will have two to three years experience as a leading hand and be ready to move into a sub foreperson role or you will already be in that role and be looking for a step up in company size.
