Our client is seeking on a part time basis a network engineer with sound Cisco skills and an emphasis on security and architecture. This role requires someone with initiative and maturity to join the network team and assist from both a network architecture and security perspective. This role will be 2-3 months + for 2 to 3 days per week.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting the ICT Infrastructure Team as and when required
- 3-5 years proven technical infrastructure experience
- Understanding of ITIL
- A good understanding of Windows server knowledge including AD/DNS/IAS and Exchange
- A solid knowledge of backup and storage systems including tape and SAN, plus experience with Fibre networking. A good understanding of networking including routers and switches
- A good understanding of Microsoft ISA 2006 Management
- Experience with deploying Intel-based servers and storage hardware from major vendors - HP, DELL, EMC.
- Experience in supporting and troubleshooting Microsoft Windows operating system and infrastructure technologies including Windows 2003/2008, Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy, SMS/SCCM, and Windows XP
- Linux experience and understanding of server administration
- Experience and knowledge of LAN, WAN, VLAN and networking technologies, components and protocols.
A large amount of work to include enhancing security of existing servers using Microsoft ISA 2006 as a Reverse Proxy Server. This would include using multi-networking features of ISA Server to enable the protection of the network against internal and external security threats, by limiting communication between clients.

- CCNA qualified

- CCSP preferred
