Responsibilities will include:
Detailed design for T&D Overhead and Underground Line Projects throughout QLD
Overseeing Projects from Concept through to Commissioning

Applicants should have approximately 10 years power industry/utility design experience within QLD. You should specifically have worked on Ergon Energy or Energex projects and have an intimate knowledge of their standards and processes. Extensive knowledge of pole configurations, clearance diagrams, insulator assemblies, sag and tension tables and summary of materials is essential. Previous experience with Catan, Poles 'N' Wires, PLS-TOWER and PLS-POLE software is highly desirable.

Due to an increase in projects they require 4x standards engineers across the disciplines of civil, mechanical and electrical. Particularly electrical. They are looking to build a team of engineers that can develop a centralisation of standards across all new projects and existing assets.
The purpose of the role is to be accountable for supporting the delivery of the capital program, by way of developing quality technical standards, reviewing designs against standards and providing technical subject matter expertise to the project community.
Note- all candidates must be able to develop standards from scratch, this is not a design role, PM delivery role, purely developing standards.
The role will include Standards- develop, deliver and maintain a suite of quality technical standards that will set the expectations in the delivery, operation and maintenance of new assets. Project Management- Work with the Capital Program team and Asset Management Teams to ensure effective interface processes are in place for the effective management of Engineering Standards Department resource requirements and transition of Assets delivered from Capital projects at commissioning/practical completion. Safety and Security. Continuous Improvement. Stakeholder management and engagement.
The ideal candidate will have an electrical, mechanical or civil engineering degree. All candidates will have a minimum of 7 years experience. You must have excellent communication skills as stakeholder engagement, and building of relationships is essential. Systems and Development of standards, technical requirements, and document control governance is also crucial. All clients must have worked for a consultancy or another client side organisation in a similar background.
