This business critical role provides technical and managerial leadership in meeting the challenge of integrating engineering, asset management and reliability activities to provide appropriate technical support to our Infrastructure departments and to ensure Infrastructure works programmes align with each other and the overall business requirements.
Principal Accountabilities will include:
Integrate activities of engineering, asset management and reliability to ensure an efficient and effective programme of maintenance and renewal works is undertaken
Report on Infrastructure Asset Management, Reliability and Engineering activities, staffing, projects and project milestones.
Lead the development and implementation of the systems within the department.
Working knowledge of computerised asset management systems as Maximo and ability to effectively use such systems to improve reliability of assets.
Procurement and management of consultancy services as required where there is no appropriate in-house capability or capacity
Integrate infrastructure work across Yarra Trams, through communication with peers and superiors including consultation to develop infrastructure strategies that are coordinated across Yarra Trams, through both Business Planning and AWP process
Review and revise Asset Management Plan, and develop Annual Works Plans to ensure Infrastructure fully supports business objectives
Represent infrastructure at internal and external stakeholder meetings, including at senior executive level
Development of new and enhanced data collection techniques
Monthly, quarterly, annual and ad-hoc reporting – including data analysis, writing and reviewing of reports
Report on the Infrastructure balanced scorecard as it relates to department
Proven experience in initiating and implementing significant change within the workplace and organisation of a diverse variety of functions.
The successful incumbent will be tertiary qualified in a relevant engineering discipline and will possess extensive proven experience in asset management within a multi-functional organisation. Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of asset management, engineering and reliability concepts and their application to rail infrastructure will be highly regarded. A strong communicator with proven leadership experience, the successful candidate will be expected to use their highly developed persuasive skills to deal effectively internally and externally at the most senior levels. Well developed strategic and operational planning skills are a must.
