This is a temporary contract position and would suit someone who is currently in New Zealand that holds a valid work visa and available immediately. The primary purpose of this role is to help plan, manage and control the relevant areas of maintenance and general new construction projects you have been assigned, on these projects, to ensure completion on quality, time and profit objectives. You may be involved in various areas of rail projects, from the earthworks, to structural works, to roads and pavements, services and utilities, and other civil related rail work. Therefore experience in these projects are a must. You will be required to work within site project team (Superintendent & work force) to meet contractual requirements and site targets across all project business functions including financial, program, safety, human resources, quality, community & environment design and sub-contractor management. Essential skills/qualifications required: • Minimum 2 years in a similar position and demonstrable achievements within a Civil, Construction environment. Preference will be given to candidates with a Rail background. • Relevant tertiary qualifications and strong career progression. • Strong technical capabilities. • Financial management exposure– reducing costs, meeting budgets and driving cost accountability. • OHS management – risk assessment and legislative compliance. • Environmental management – regulatory frameworks, systems and key risks. • Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written. • Effective team-player capabilities.
