Work Dress Code Brought Down By Casual Fridays
More than one in three Australians believe that casual days have significantly brought down the level of dress in the workplace overall.
The survey on work wear by Linkme.com.au, Australia's leading career building and networking site, found that 60% of Australians notice how their colleagues dress at work. For 35% of employees, dress even impacts the way they interact with colleagues.
"Campbell Sallabank, CEO, Linkme.com.au said:
"Employees need to be mindful of the reputation and image that their company wishes to reflect, even if it is a casual dress day. It's still a work day! No employer should force a certain style of dress, however looking neat and presentable should definitely be the status quo.
Workers ruled out ever wearing thongs (77%), ripped or rugged looking jeans (75%), mini skirts (72% or really low hipster jeans (72%) to work.
Dropping the dress code entirely, over one in five Australians say they've gone to work with no underwear on but only 12 % have made it a habit.
