Blokes Addicted To Their Portable Member
More than 1 in 4 men consider themselves addicted to their portable communication device, such as a blackberry, with 49% even taking it on holidays and 30% bringing it along to dates!
According to the survey by Linkme.com.au, Australia's leading career building and networking site, women are far more careful about keeping their PDA relationship strictly within working hours.
More men use their device for work purposes after hours (47%) than women (30.5%).
Blokes also firmly believe their portable member makes them more efficient at work (56.7%) as opposed to 42% of women.
Using it to fill in 'wasted' time, men say they work on their PDA during public transportation (45%), in a queue (37%), in bed (23.9%) and even on the toilet (24.5%).
Campbell Sallabank, CEO, Linkme.com.au said:
"PDAs are a fix for those that are always on the go, filling what would have been wasted work time.
"In extreme cases, which according to this survey is 1 in 4, workers lose count of how often they use the device, accepting it as part of their daily life and losing personal time.
"This survey shows that women are unashamedly not willing for this to happen. More than half of the female survey population (52%) swore they don't use the device for any purpose after work, exercising extreme caution so as to not let it take hold of their overall life".
