Aussies Working Harder Than Ever... Weekend Jobs... Overtime And Bosses Expect It

One third of the Australian working population say they are working so hard they feel like they are doing two jobs according to a survey conducted by Australia's leading career networking site, LinkMe.

And more than half of those hardworking Aussies don't get paid overtime, rather their bosses just expect them to put the extra time in, says Mr Campbell Sallabank, CEO of LinkMe.

"Most people say they are completing their work at the office, but 41.5 say they work at home after hours.

"According to respondents, 88.8% of bosses just accept the overtime without complaint, and only 11.7% show any concern at all.

"But when it comes to staff arriving late to work, 40.5% of bosses expect the latecomers to put in extra time to make up for their tardiness.

"Whilst 57.1% of employees actually don't mind working overtime, it's the youngsters that get the pay windfall with 69.2% of the 18 and below admitting to getting extra cash to compensate.
