76% of Aussies want to be headhunted

76% of Aussies would like to be headhunted for a better job according to a recent survey conducted by leading career building and networking site LinkMe.com.au.

CEO of LinkMe Campbell Sallabank says: “Headhunting is quickly becoming the preferred and necessary method of recruitment.

Australia’s massive skills shortage means that companies are forced to go to extreme lengths to find staff. The traditional online job ad is no longer delivering.”

Currently 46% of Australians have been headhunted and the number is continuously rising.

“This form of recruitment has become common place because headhunting no longer exists primarily for high end corporate positions but instead for all fields and levels of expertise.

Aussies who have not been headhunted but wish to be outline the following as reasons why: ‘I don’t put myself out there enough’ (37%), ‘I don’t know enough people’ (27.2%) and ‘I am not highly regarded’ (18.3%).

“Networking is a major part of being headhunted. If people don‘t know who you are or what you have to offer, they want approach you.

“Being headhunted is not only good for your pay packet but also makes you feel great.”
